The Waiting Period!

This week was all about waiting. My mentor has done everything on his end and now we are just waiting for him to get approved. Because there was a waiting period, I wasn’t able to do anything that was very influential regarding my final project. However, I still tried to be productive. This week I wanted to finish my research assessment early so I tried to find an article by Tuesday so I can annotate it by Wednesday and finish the article by Thursday. The article I found for my assessment was very interesting and helped me understand my topic, data visualization, more in depth. This article went more in depth about the history behind data science and the science of how effective it is to help people understand data. Although, i have read other articles that covered the basics of data visualization, the way this article was written helped me understand data visualization and its purpose a little better.

Next week, my objective is to hopefully have my mentor approved, touch base with my mentor, and hopefully have the first meeting with him. I also want work on my research paper throughout the week so I do not feel stressed on Friday night in a hurry to finish it. I am excited to start the next chapter of this journey because it was hard to persevere in this struggle of finding a mentor. This process was very tedious but I hope the end result is what I hope it is. My ISM journey so far has been amazing, insightful, and sometimes uncomfortable but I know these are the experiences that will help in my future endowments.
