Data Science it is!

For this week, my main focus was to work on my topic proposal, find people to interview and potential mentors, and began thinking about my original work. Writing my topic proposal required me to be reflective and really figure out where my love for computer science began and evolved. It also allowed me to find my reason for choosing data science and why it could be a possible career choice for me. The topic proposal also was a good starting point for me to start coming up with original work ideas and how I could change and impact the world in my own little way. As for my goal of finding new mentors, I was not very successful. I found two people through LinkedIn who provided their email but have not responded back. My goal is to find more people through not only through LinkedIn but also reach out to college professors who teach data science. To prepare for next week, I also came up with some ideas that could work for my original work. Overall, I would call this week somewhat successful. I did my topic proposal thoroughly but my goal of finding people to interview did not happen.  For next week, my goal is to finalize my idea for the original work proposal that is attainable for my skillset and happy with and find at least five people to interview with my new strategy. I am hoping I can find a mentor through these interviews.
