For the past few weeks in ISM, I have been doing tasks that are slowly preparing me for the real world and eventually to find a mentor. In the first week of ISM, I made my mission statement and found a quote which really laid down the foundation for the rest of the year. Finding a quote that was fitting with my personality and intention for this year was challenging, but after finding the right one it made ISM more exciting. During that process, I learned more about my personal brand and the importance it has in the real world. In addition, I learned how to make a website using Wix and a LinkedIn account. I learned that making a LinkedIn account is a tool to develop my skills in networking, grow my circle, and find opportunities. Finally, I did my first research assessment for this class. I chose to do the career outlook where I learned more about my topic, Data Science. Through this assessment, I learned how to become a Data Scientist, what degree you need to have to be successful, to what specific terminology is used in the field. I also learned that Data Science is a growing field and is projected to increase more in the future. I was successful this week because I was productive and eager to learn more about my topic. For next week, I hope to stay productive and enjoy this journey and process in ISM. I will make a resume that will be helpful to my mentors and can be on my website. To make my successful resume, I will research how to make a successful resume, find outstanding examples, make a plan to what to include beforehand, and use a website that will make the resume professional. These past weeks have been beneficial to me and I hope next week is too.
